Healthy Reminder: Eat Your Peels! Here's Why

My dears, do you tend to ditch the peels on your fruits and veggies? An important reminder why eating those skins is so good for you ...

Clearly, some skin isn't edible (or tasty)--melon rind, for example (blech!)--but when it comes to pears, apples, even sweet potatoes, if you set the peeler aside and munch those skins you're giving your bod a huge nutritional boost.

Take apple skins, for instance. The Cooking Light folks tweeted recently that a medium red delicious apple--with the skin on--contains double the fiber and 45 percent more antioxidants than its peeled counterpart.

Are you eating your peels?
